52 Card Pick-up, Art Lending Library, 2017.
A set of hand-made, hand-embroidered, silk and paper playing cards that were intended specifically to be used. Borrowed along with a folding card table and embroidered cloth, these cards encouraged families, friends and neighbours to spend an evening playing together.
The Art Lending Library - a work by Zoe Walker and Neil Bromwich - travelled the country stopping in different towns and offering local residents the opportunity to borrow different artworks for their homes for up to a month. From paintings and sculptures to performance art and publicly engaged pieces, the library offered contemporary art on a free, short term lending basis.
